Five and a half pounds of fentanyl is off the streets.

That's the word from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Narcotics Division Captain Richard DiBerardino says that is enough of the deadly synthetic drug to take more than a million lives.

"Just to give perspective an ounce of fentanyl, 28,000 miligrams...that's enough to kill about 14,000 people."

He gave an update Tuesday on "Operation Rushmore," which is a nearly one year long investigation that hasn't concluded yet.

So far, 19 people have been arrested...many of them 'documented' members of the Zoe Mafia Family or ZMF gang.

Deputies and DEA agents also seized 350 grams of methamphetamine, pills, marijuana, six firearms and $20,000 in cash.

More arrests are expected in this investigation that cross county lines.
