Miami-Dade's mayor and other elected officials on hand at the Viscaya Metrorail station this morning for The Underline Phase 2 ribbon cutting. Meg Daly, who came up with the idea of transforming the space underneath the Metrorail tracks, says phase 2 is a 2-mile segment connecting Southwest 13th Street to Southwest 19th Avenue. Once complete, The Underline will be a 10-mile path improving pedestrian safety while providing access to eight Metrorail stations along the path. Its's funded by the county and private donors.
