The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says it is cracking down on drivers who travel slower than the speed limit while in the left lane.
According to Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, the traffic division is focused on slow drivers who cause accidents or what he calls "near misses" because other drivers are trying to get around them.
Bradshaw reminds drivers that the left lane should only be used for passing.
The sheriff says his deputies are also on the lookout for distracted drivers who are on their phones, as well as aggressive drivers.
Bradshaw also talked about an issue involving pedestrian accidents. He says there have been way too many incidents in Palm Beach County, in which people are getting hit as they cross the middle of the road rather than at crosswalks. He urges pedestrians to use a flashlight and wear reflective clothing when walking at night.
