We all benefit from the dollars spent in our area by people who live elsewhere, and Palm Beach County's Tourist Development Council is working to get even more of those dollars here.

The council plans to spend $2 million to entice residents of several cities around the country, including Boston, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

Tourism leaders say the plan should raise hotel occupancy by one percent and save or add 1,200 jobs.

The County Commission would still need to approve the plan.
