If you were in a car crash, and treated at the JFK Medical Center's emergency room, a lawsuit claims you were charged more for the same services than other patients.
The suit was filed on behalf of two people involved in separate crashes last year.
It alleges the higher costs are passed on to people who were in car accidents where the bill from JFK in Atlantis goes through the driver's PIP coverage.
The lawsuit seeks class action status, with attorneys believing the issue is widespread across 80 Florida hospitals, all owned by HCA, our state's largest hospital company. JFK calls the suit "baseless."
