A new condo will be built on the intracoastal in West Palm Beach.
After listening to several hours of public comment Tuesday, and securing a pledge from developers to hire local workers, city commissioners gave unanimous approval to a controversial condominium project to be built on the Chapel by the Lake property on South Flagler Drive.
They voted in favor of a single-tower, 22-story design and capped the number of residential units at 75. The other option was a 26 story condo.
According to city records, the latest redesign, approved by commissioners, moves the tower farther north on the property and includes public access to the waterfront.
