The Better Business Bureau says at least 1/3 of those who received gifts this Christmas are heading to stores on Thursday to make a return.  Be prepared for crowds and long lines at malls and the customer service lines at those big box stores.

Some stores may limit returns to credit only with or without a receipt, they may require returns within 30 days or state that all sales are final.  You may also need to pay a re-stocking fee.

To avoid extra stress and hassles, you may want to find the receipt and review the store's return policy, before heading out.  If it's not on the receipt, go to the store's website and look it up.

Experts say you may also want to hold onto that gift and return it during the first week of January, when those post-Christmas sales are over and stores are not as busy.
