Hap Erstein with PalmBeachArtsPaper.com tells us about the latest films, including a coming-of-age comedy and a British thriller that he says seems like it could happen in our country.

"The World's End" - Simon Pegg and the other guys from movies like "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead" star in this British comedy.

"The Spectacular Now" - Miles Teller, who played Willard in the remake of "Footloose", stars in this comedy/drama about a couple of high school seniors who fall in love.  This limited release is playing in the Miami area, but may move into our area before long.  Jennifer Jason Leigh, who made a name for herself as a teenager in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", plays a mom.  When did we get this old???

"Closed Circuit" - A terrorist attack in London results in the capture of a suspect . The attorney general appoints Claudia Simmons-Howe (Rebecca Hall) as special advocate on Erdogan's legal team. On the eve of the trial, Erdogan's lawyer dies, and a new defense attorney, Martin Rose (Eric Bana), steps in. Martin and Claudia are former lovers.  This one opens officially on Wednesday, but Hap loves it.

"The Mortal Instruments:City of Bones" - A sci-fi fantasy film set in modern day NYC.

"You're Next" - A home-invasion horror film.

"In a World" - Those are the words that many motion picture trailers begin with.  It's also the name of a film about a father and daughter competing to be the voice talent behind the trailer for a new movie.  Actress Lake Bell wrote, directed and stars in this film.
